An interactive session where attendees can share learnings and experience in key areas in offshore decommissioning. The session will be split into three separate sessions with an opportunity to attend all of these. Each session will look at key challenges and look for attendees to drive solutions for People, Pace and Policy that will lead the UK on the journey to decommissioning excellence.

In-person only workshop for conference attendees – limited availability.

Workshop will be limited to 100 attendees and will last 3 hours.

The OEUK decommissioning Work Breakdown Structure has become a very recognisable feature in the UK and around the world. It has improved the way industry communicates and benchmarks decommissioning projects, driving efficiencies in decommissioning. Focus is required on every component part of the Decommissioning WBS to drive excellence in decommissioning.

The session, focused on offshore wind decommissioning, will start with the official launch of OEUK’s Decommissioning of Offshore Wind Installations Guideline and Offshore Wind Decommissioning Work Breakdown Structure. This will be followed by short presentations and a panel session covering the scale of the opportunity afforded by offshore wind decommissioning along with estimated timing of asset retiral, insights on offshore wind decommissioning from a wind contractor, an overview of the infrastructure and resource challenges and finally the need for routes for circularity and recycling.

Several offshore global basins are increasing decommissioning activity, with planning and execution well underway. While the North Seas is one of the most advanced basins regarding decommissioning execution, with experience building up in other regions, there is an increasing opportunity for cross basin learnings in both directions, driving continuous improvements towards better decommissioning performance. In this session, IOGP and speakers representing basins beyond the UKCS will introduce the global decommissioning portfolio, discuss challenges faced or overcome and discuss opportunities for the UK decommissioning supply chains and operators.
