Montrose Port Authority

Montrose Port Authority is a trust port on Scotland’s east coast, supporting the offshore energy, bulk cargo and marine sectors. With deep-water berths, flexible quayside facilities and longstanding oil and gas expertise, the port is a trusted partner to major names across the industry.

As a growing hub for offshore renewables, Montrose is the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) base for Seagreen, Scotland’s largest operational offshore wind farm, and the forthcoming Inch Cape project. The port has also recently been selected as the preferred location for the O&M base for SSE’s Berwick Bank B Offshore Wind Farm.

Building on its oil and gas heritage and focus on decommissioning, Montrose now offers a purpose-built quayside decommissioning facility, managed on site by specialist operator BME Services. Capable of handling assets of over 10,000 tonnes, the facility enables direct vessel-to-quayside transfer, with dedicated areas for the cleaning, handling, treatment and storage of both NORM and non-NORM materials. SEPA-authorised, it provides a cradle-to-grave service with full traceability, supporting the safe and efficient management of end-of-life offshore infrastructure.
