Session 7

Wednesday 22 November : 8.30 am – 9.45 am

ENERGY - HOW INTEGRATED?

Session Champion

This session brings together voices from the oil and gas, offshore wind, hydrogen and carbon capture and storage (CCS) sectors to provide a perspective of the current status of offshore energy integration, outlining the landscape.

The challenges around scale of offshore wind power and its distribution through the grid and the possibility of some wind energy producers using the power for local hydrogen production and use rather than connection to the electricity or gas distribution systems will be discussed.

The opportunities available through CCS especially with the recent award of six CO2 storage and licence awards on the UKCS will be highlighted alongside the move to towards electrification of oil and gas production to reduce emissions while ensuring energy security.

Speakers and Panellists
